No matter what stage of a relationship you are in or not in, this message is for you.

For those of you in the dating pool, the ultimate trap is going to be getting sucked into dating apps when there is nowhere to go and allowing conversations to go on via chatting and texting, only to never result in a date when this quarantine ends.

I have one really big bold thing to say:​

Use this as an excuse to do things the old-fashioned way that require more effort, more connection, and more listening and sharing.​
​
Have dinners with no phones and TVs. Have reading time with candles and music. Create arts and crafts projects out of random things around the house. Take some time to tell old stories and play board games.
​​
But, what if you’re living by yourself or with a bunch of friends and you’re really looking for a long-term partner and can’t even go out to bars and restaurants right now.
​​
Don’t get stuck in the ultimate trap!​
​
That no one ever speaks on the phone before a date or goes out to dinner as a first date, IS JUST NOT TRUE. I had a client do that just a couple of weeks ago. It shows commitment, respect, and opportunity. Which is what you want from a partner.
​
Create that phone conversation that has you talking for hours until you have to force one another off the phone. And, allow yourself the benefit of screening this person before you have to waste time getting ready to grab a drink.
​
The level of excitement, anxiety, nervousness and passion that comes with having an incredible conversation with someone (loving their voice and humor) and then having to wait to see them, makes for an awesome date.
​
